We are looking for a dynamic, capable professional to lead the packaging development. Packaging development in the food industry is crucial for protecting food from spoilage/contamination, extending shelf life, providing essential information, enabling convenience, marketing products through branding, ensuring safety (tamper-evidence), and facilitating distribution, all while addressing modern demands for sustainability and technological integration. The position is based in Kinathukadavu, Coimbatore.

Principal Responsibilities:
- Explore and propose new product and packaging development concepts in alignment with food safety standards and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Design, implement, and manage the packaging supply chain workflow, ensuring all materials are evaluated against food safety, quality, regulatory, and integrity standards.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate risks during packaging development to ensure smooth, safe, and compliant product launches.
- Plan and conduct production line trials for all new packaging materials and secure necessary approvals from Quality Assurance (QA) and Production teams.
- Address and resolve critical quality issues by coordinating with suppliers and ensuring effective implementation of Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) for incoming packaging materials.
- Lead new vendor development, including technical capability assessments and on-site audits of packaging material suppliers.
- Provide comprehensive packaging material evaluations, including cost analysis, loadability studies, and technical capability reports for new requirements.
- Coordinate the arrangement and approval of packaging material samples for customer reference or validation.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives for existing packaging materials to enhance sustainability, cost efficiency, and production performance.
- Take responsibility for the first production run of all new packaging materials, ensuring proper setup, evaluation, and post-production approvals from QA, NPD, and Production teams.
- Maintain and control updated records of packaging artworks, specifications, and approved versions in designated folders or databases to ensure traceability and compliance.
- Support cross-functional teams (QA, NPD, Procurement, Production) during product or packaging change management activities to ensure seamless implementation.
- Monitor supplier performance through periodic reviews and initiate improvement actions in case of deviations.
- Ensure all packaging materials comply with statutory labeling, food safety, and regulatory requirements for both domestic and export markets.
- Contribute to cost optimization initiatives by identifying alternative materials, suppliers, or design improvements without compromising quality, safety, or compliance.
Education:
- PG Diploma at Indian Institute of Packaging
- Fresher or Two- or Three-years’ experience as Packaging Development Executive
